You've read the pages. You've half-fallen for the Cabuérniga valley, the long table, the idea of a week where dinner simply happens and you didn't have to cook it. Now you want the unglamorous part: what actually occurs when you go to book? Fair question — and here is the whole journey, click by click, with nothing skipped and nothing dressed up.

What happens when you click "Book now"?

The button takes you to the booking system on an agara.es-branded page. Under the bonnet, that system is run by Spice Escapes — Casa Agara's exclusive booking partner for the scheduled, per-person hosted weeks — but you don't get flung off to some unfamiliar-looking website with a different name and a different feel. You stay on an agara.es page (book.agara.es), with the house's own branding around you the whole way.

What you see there is the real thing: the same dates, the same prices and the same live availability that Spice sells directly. Nothing is marked up for having landed here, and nothing is hidden. It's the genuine booking system, wearing the house's colours — which is rather the point, because handing your details to a page that suddenly looks nothing like the site you were just on is exactly the moment people lose their nerve. Here, you can always see where you are.

Choosing your dates and your place

First you pick your week from the scheduled dates. Then you say how you're travelling.

Coming on your own? This is where the single-traveller question gets answered honestly. There's no forced single supplement. You can twin-share — matched with a same-sex room-mate at no extra charge — or take a room of your own for a clearly-priced supplement, shown right there so you can see exactly what it adds. No vague "supplements may apply". The number is on the screen before you commit to it.

Coming as a couple, or with a friend? Book two places, or a shared room, in the same few steps. If it's one of the walking weeks — run with the walking specialists at Walkwise — you book it the same way; the guided walking is simply part of what that week includes.

Everything you see is live. If a date shows as available, it's available. If it's filling up, you'll see that too, rather than finding out after you've got your hopes up.

Do you need an account or a membership first?

No. You do not need to join anything before you can book, and you do not need to already be a member of any club. You check out as a guest, and your account is created for you at that point, as part of paying. There's no sign-up queue, no waiting to be approved, no membership to buy first. Booking is the membership, if you like — it happens in the same breath as paying.

This is the thing people worry about most, so it's worth saying plainly: a guest checkout is all it takes.

How does paying work, and what does "confirmed" mean?

Like most hosted holidays, you don't pay every penny on day one. A deposit secures your place; the balance is due before you travel. The exact figures and dates are shown to you at the point of booking — no need to guess, and no surprise clause buried three screens deep. For the flight-inclusive packages, your money carries ATOL protection (Spice Escapes holds licence 9046), which is the financial safety net you want any UK operator to have.

Once your deposit is paid, you get a confirmation. That is the moment your place is genuinely held — not "enquired about", not "provisionally pencilled", but booked. From there it's a matter of the balance nearer the time, and the practical business of getting yourself to the valley.

What if you'd rather ask a question first?

Plenty of people like to check one thing before they commit — a dietary need, whether a particular week suits their pace, a question about the room. That's exactly what Rob and María are there for. A message on WhatsApp (+34 699 489 998) or an email to hello@agara.es gets you a straight answer from the people who actually host the week. Anything about the booking mechanics, Spice will confirm; anything about the house, the food or the walking, Rob and María will tell you themselves.

The short version

Click "Book now", land on an agara.es-branded page, pick your week, choose twin-share or your own room, check out as a guest, pay your deposit, get your confirmation. No membership, no jarring jump to a strange site, no hidden mark-up. The dates, prices and availability are the real ones — you're just booking them somewhere that still looks like home.
